The Sinclair Method
A revolutionary treatment for problem drinking that uses targeted naltrexone therapy, and is clinically-proven to have a 78% success rate
Â
START NOWThe Sinclair Method (TSM) is a science-based protocol for treating alcohol use disorder. It uses the medication naltrexone in a targeted dose. Over time, most people using this protocol will experience fewer alcohol cravings and less interest in drinking.
The Sinclair Method Explained
Here's a short video clip of Dr David Sinclair explaining his discovery of The Sinclair Method, and how and why it works
According to Dr David Sinclair's research:
- Addiction to alcohol is a learned behavior inside the brain's neural pathways
- Over time with repeated drinking, these pathways become stronger, leading to compulsive drinking
- The Sinclair Method (TSM) treats alcohol addiction where it is learned – which is inside the brain
- For approximately 80% of people, TSM can result in pharmacological extinction of the alcohol addiction. In other words, the alcohol addiction can be reversed
- The Sinclair Method does not require willpower as it reduces interest in alcohol after several months of treatment
- Over 90 clinical trials have supported the effectiveness of the Sinclair Method

More About Naltrexone
- Naltrexone has been approved by the FDA for treatment of alcohol use disorder since 1994.
- Naltrexone is considered a safe, non-addictive and non-habit-forming medication that has very few interactions or side effects for most people.
- Following The Sinclair Method, naltrexone works by blocking the endorphin reward from alcohol. It does not make a person sick from alcohol like Antabuse.
- A prescription is required in most parts of the world for naltrexone.
- When you enroll in The Alcohol Freedom Program, we'll connect you with a telemedicine physician who will prescribe and monitor your prescription. đź‘Ť

How The Sinclair Method Works
According to Dr David Sinclair's research, the Sinclair Method works by dealing with alcohol use disorder on a neurological level. 🧠 Here's how:
Step 1
When consumed, alcohol triggers the release of feel-good hormones in the brain, such as endorphins, leading to a pleasurable sensation
Step 2
Feel-good hormones drive the craving, drinking, and excessive alcohol consumption that leads to the development of alcohol use disorder (AUD)
Step 3
Research indicates that FDA-approved medications like naltrexone can block feel-good hormones during drinking, reducing the overall rewarding experience
Step 4
Sinclair's research revealed that repeated blocking of feel-good hormones over time leads to a natural decline in alcohol interest for most individuals
Step 5
As alcohol interest wanes, individuals are urged to adopt lifestyle changes, develop new coping strategies, and shift behaviors linked to excessive drinking
Step 6
TSM users often share that they can choose moderation or alcohol-free living more easily through this treatment

"I support The Sinclair Method because all throughout my psychiatric residency training, alcohol treatment was very all or none in regards to AA and abstinence or using medications like Antabuse or Campral, with essentially expected poor outcomes. When I learned about The Sinclair Method, it was a lightbulb moment, and I saw immediate life-changing responses with my patients. I have been a believer since then, as this has been the only treatment where I have seen consistent and sustained positive results. It is a game-change and a life-saver."
